Lately, I have been visiting a lot of websites and I have noticed there are still a large number of them that are not responsive. When I use the term “responsive” I am referring to responsive web design.

So, what is responsive web design and how is it beneficial to you?

Responsive Web Design or RWD is a way to describe a website that has been crafted for optimal viewing experiences across a wide range of devices including mobile phones, tablets, and traditional desktop or laptop computers. If your business or organization’s website is not currently responsive you are not providing your site visitors a positive or friendly user experience. This in turn can lead to frustration and possibly a loss of potential customers if they decide to leave your website prematurely.

A website that is unresponsive stays the same dimensions on all computers and devices. This becomes an issue for users on smartphones with smaller screens because they have to do a lot of panning and scrolling to navigate a website. Your organization should have a mobile first mindset. In 2016 internet users with mobile and tablet devices exceeded desktop worldwide for the first time. (StatCounter) Trends suggest this will only increase in the upcoming years.

In conclusion, if your business or organization does not currently have a responsive website, Pixel Craft strongly recommends you make the change sooner rather than later.
